Dräger is a German company founded in Lübeck in 1889; its products are used by industry, fire brigades and rescue services around the world.

Breathing apparatus

Compressed-air breathing apparatus is needed where filter devices give no protection: in fires, in rooms full of smoke or gas, and where the air lacks oxygen. The PSS range is designed for firefighters and rescuers: the PSS 3000 is light, robust and simple to service, and the PSS 7000 is built for professional firefighters.

Masks and filters

Where the air contains enough oxygen, filter devices are suitable for respiratory protection. The X-plore 6300 and FPS 7000 full face masks take interchangeable X-plore Rd40 filters – particle, gas and combination filters. The FPS 7000 can also be used with breathing apparatus. Single-use half masks protect against dust: we stock the X-plore 1930 FFP3, X-plore 1350 N95 and X-plore 1750 N95.

Helmets

The HPS 7000 firefighter’s helmet protects the head against heat and mechanical impact and takes a wide range of accessories. The lightweight HPS 3500 is designed for search and rescue, forest firefighting, road accident response, and rescue at height and on water.

Gas detectors

A portable gas detector is worn on clothing for the whole shift: it continuously monitors the air and raises an alarm when the concentration of a hazardous gas exceeds the set threshold. The Pac 6500 single-gas detector measures CO, H₂S, SO₂ or O₂. The X-am 2800 multi-gas detector measures up to four gases at once and the X-am 5800 up to five; both have a shock-resistant CatEx sensor for flammable gases.

Alcohol and drug testing

Alcotest breathalysers measure the alcohol concentration in exhaled breath. Our range includes the personal Alcotest 4000 and the professional Alcotest 6000 and Alcotest 6820; the 6820 is sold as a set with a printer. The DrugCheck 3000 rapid test detects six drug classes in a saliva sample in 3–5 minutes. The Interlock 7000 alcohol interlock stops the engine from starting if alcohol is detected in the breath sample.

For breathalysers we supply single-use mouthpieces, a power supply unit and a car adapter.

Service and calibration

Over time the accuracy of a breathalyser’s electrochemical sensor declines, so the device has to be calibrated at intervals that depend on the model. We calibrate and check breathalysers at our service centre in Chișinău. Our engineers attend regular training and professional development courses in Germany and Romania.

How we work

1. We assess the requirements – working conditions, hazardous substances, number of employees – and choose the right equipment.
2. We prepare a quotation and agree the delivery time.
3. We deliver the equipment with a warranty and certificates of conformity.
4. We commission and service it: we calibrate breathalysers and supply consumables and accessories.
