Standard Slide ’n’ Click disposable mouthpieces for Dräger Alcotest

The sophisticated design of these mouthpieces, proven in millions of tests, makes breath alcohol analysis quick, simple and hygienic.

Key features

• Hygienic packaging. The packs are connected in a chain and separate at a perforation. A second perforation for opening each pack means the mouthpiece can be fitted without touching the part that goes in the mouth.
• Clicks into place. The grooved pressure surface makes correct fitting easy, even in the dark, from the left or the right depending on the device’s mouthpiece holder. An audible click confirms the fit, and the Alcotest is immediately ready for use again.
• Reliable sampling. The geometry, adapted to Dräger breath alcohol devices, gives an optimal air flow with low breathing resistance. The breath is not directed through the device but past it, and the sample is drawn out of the air flow.
• Tamper-proof. The air outlet cannot be closed, so the result cannot be falsified when the breath sample is given.
• Safe distance. The mouthpiece sits at the specially shaped grip area, so the operator’s hands stay clear of the subject. A spacer keeps the subject’s lips off the housing, and the sample can be given at a 90° angle so the breath does not blow onto the operator.
• Easy removal. After the test, the mouthpiece comes off cleanly with a flick of the finger on the spacer. The Alcotest 7510 even has a special ejector for this.
• Safe material. Skin sensitisation and cytotoxicity tests confirm that the mouthpieces can be used in contact with the skin and in the mouth.

Compatibility

Alcotest 5820, 6000, 6820, 7000 and 7510, as well as the earlier Alcotest 3000, 5510, 6510 and 6810.

For increased hygiene, Dräger recommends Slide ’n’ Click mouthpieces with a non-return valve, which stop the subject from breathing potentially contaminated air back in. With the medical Alcotest 6820 med and Alcotest 7000 med, only the special Alcomed mouthpieces are approved under Regulation (EU) 2017/745 on medical devices (MDR).
