Frequently asked questions

Breathalyser calibration, mask protection classes, ordering, single crystals

All questions
Can I calibrate the breathalyser myself?

No. For the breathalyser to measure with maximum accuracy, it has to be calibrated with specialised equipment, which is available only at our service centre. Calibrating a device in good condition usually takes 30–40 minutes (not counting other work such as checks or repairs).

What is the difference between the FFP1, FFP2 and FFP3 protection classes?

The EN 149 classes differ in the concentration of harmful substances at which the mask may be used: FFP1 up to 4 times the limit value, FFP2 up to 10 times and FFP3 up to 30 times (in accordance with EN 529:2005; national regulations may differ). FFP3 also protects against radioactive particles, enzymes and airborne biological agents of risk group 3. N95 masks are certified by the US National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and filter at least 95% of particles. On Dräger X-plore 1900 masks the class is easy to recognise by its colour: FFP1 yellow, FFP2 orange, FFP3 red.

How do I place an order?

Press “Request a quote” on the product or service page, write to info@labromed.md or call +373 22 000 824. We will prepare a quotation with the price, lead time and delivery terms. We reply on working days, 9:00 – 18:00.

What are single crystals?

A single crystal (monocrystal) is a crystal in which the atoms form one continuous lattice throughout the sample, with no grain boundaries. This distinguishes it from a polycrystal, which consists of many small crystals (grains) with different orientations. Thanks to its ordered structure, the properties of a single crystal are reproducible and depend on the direction within the crystal (anisotropy). That is why single crystals are needed wherever precise, predictable material properties matter: in microelectronics, optics, laser technology and scientific research. Examples of natural single crystals are quartz, diamond and topaz.
